K-pop dance with Nadia
As the very first in Roskilde, we offer K-pop dance as a class. If you love K-pop, and want to learn the hottest dance moves, then this class is just for you. Our dance teacher Maykel will teach you the basic dance steps so you can dance to your favorite dance videos on Youtube. The team is for children between 13-18 years, who want to have fun and dance to the music they love the most! All you have to do is move on to music from BTS, STRAYKIDS, BLACK PINK, TWICE, EXO and many more. No dancing experience required. At the end of the season, we make our very own dance videos, which you can take home and share with friends and family.
You do not need to have any dancing experience to join, just want to dance!
There is room for fun and learning, for children and young people between: 13-18 years.
What is k-pop dance?
In K-pop, there is actually music for everyone, because it is a mixture of pop music, as the name indicates, but you can also find R&B, funk, rap, soul, hip hop, jazz and much more. At the same time, the style also changes as the music changes in the world, so there is always something for everyone. Originally, K-pop (Korean pop) originated in South Korea, but the wave of music band and dance has also hit the rest of the globe.
Like the music, then dance is influenced by many different styles and genres from around the world, such as hip hop, R&B, funk, house, reggae on top of its traditional Korean music and dance roots.
About Maykel
Født i 1991. Maykel er dansk danser, koreograf, musiker og DJ med rødder i Argentina og Nicaragua. Hans stil er inspireret af sensuelle Bachata, påvirket af forskellige genrer som R’n’B, Hip Hop og Modern Street Dance.
Han har arbejdet som danseinstruktør på flere danseskoler. Udover i Casa Bailar underviser han også hos Salsabine i København.
Indenfor de senest par år har Maykel undervist på flere festivaler herunder kan der blandt andet nævnes CPH Bachata Boozt Festival 2018 & 2019 (Danmark), Open Blues 2018 (Polen), A’dam Bachata Festival 2019 (Holland).
Derudover har Maykel deltaget i flere dansekonkurrencer og har blandt andet vundet den Latinamerikansk Dansefestival 2019 (Danmark) og fået en 2. plads i Toulouse Social Dance Competition 2019 (Frankrig) mm.
